The cover of the journal is fully decorated both front and back, and even on the inner flap. The pages are deckle edged and have a good antique look. The only thing I'm not cray about is the way they stylized the symbol on the front. The gem isn't a bad touch, but I think I would have preferred the gem to be at the crossbars and have the look of the ankh showing rather than be covered with the woven leather.
