Min Kreiner on "How the World of Darkness has been a Source of Light"

When I first joined Miami by Night in September of 2020 I had a decent idea about my identity. Bi and Genderqueer. Simple, clean-cut, nothing to further question. I used she/they pronouns because it made life easier for those around me as I tried to ignore the sting I felt inside anytime someone said "she" or my deadname. Becoming a part of the team at Miami by Night and bonding closely with the staff and players, I finally felt the courage, and in turn, the drive, to proclaim who I am loud and proud. I finally found the words to describe who I am, and the strength to not dim myself to make me easier for others to tolerate.

I'll never be able to thank Khris and Kel enough for encouraging me to use the name that I knew inside was mine all along, and to stand up for my pronouns. I'll never be able to thank Cora and Sabrina enough for encouraging me to use the gender label that fits me best, even if it's not one most people have heard of.

I am Min. I am voidpunk, bi, cripplepunk and queer. And for the first time in all my life, I finally feel like me.
